Completely understandable-autofiction is one of those genres where one tends to be undecided. I have had much the same dilemma-I like reading autobiographies, like Trevor Noah's 'Born a Crime' and I like novelisations of real lives, like the Booker Prize winning 'The God of Small Things' but I haven't yet made the jump to autofiction. (I have heard 'The Idiot' is good, might have to bump that onto my reading list!) I guess one needs to leave a book when it doesn't speak to one and return to it when one feels it-it's not a once and forever verdict, I'd think.
You know, I wonder about AI. Currently, no question, a writer gets the nuances better but in time? I wonder what will happen...
