Lovely piece. Where to start? I love your grandmother's words about reading not being a race. Sometimes, one gets caught up wanting to read all the classics, all the bestsellers, all the award-winning novels that one forgets to savour the experience itself. And the bit about reading what makes you think, what challenges you is also valuable advice.
