Thank you for this thoughtful, incisive article! Someone I know had to secure outside funding from two sources because the actual internship does not pay. I think it's a travesty-if the janitor and the cleaner who are doing essential work get paid, someone who contributes to 'day-to-day' business, in whatever small a capacity, deserves a cut as well.
