Thank you for writing this thoughtful and reflective piece. Honestly, I liked Catcher in the Rye but then fell out of love with it-your way with words reminded me what I had once loved in the book. It's a tough topic and just the kind of thing where the term 'cancel culture' gets flung about. I used to enjoy reading Marion Zimmer Bradley till I heard she abused her daughter-your point about separating art from the Artist rings true but it's sth I still struggle with.
