You raise interesting points with regards to the long raging 'book v e-book' debate. I think the tactile feeling of holding and smelling and maybe annotating a book is what renders our earliest memories of reading so pleasurable and nostalgic. That's why I agree with you when you say you prefer taking a book from a shelf but I can't claim to be a purist-the cheap price point and the constant availability of my digital library has rendered me fond of e-books as well.
